*Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.* Durante su visita a Tamaulipas, el candidato a ministro de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación, *Irving Espinosa Betanzo*, hizo un llamado a la ciudadanía a participar activamente en la elección del próximo 1 de junio, donde compite con el número 41 en la boleta morada.
En su encuentro con medios de comunicación, Espinosa Betanzo destacó la importancia histórica del proceso, al tratarse de la primera vez que se podrá elegir directamente a las personas juzgadoras del país. “Nos hemos ganado el derecho de elegir a quienes imparten justicia. Es un momento crucial para transformar de raíz el sistema judicial”, expresó.
Reconoció que actualmente existe una gran desconfianza ciudadana hacia el Poder Judicial, al considerar que las resoluciones favorables suelen estar al alcance de quien tiene mayores recursos económicos. “La justicia no puede estar a subasta del mejor postor. Debe ser un principio de actuación que sirva al interés general y no al particular”, subrayó.
Sobre el sentir de la ciudadanía, señaló que si bien hay desconfianza e incertidumbre, también hay esperanza. “La gente quiere ver realizados sus ideales de justicia, y para lograrlo debemos caminar con ella. No se puede construir una justicia aislada, debe hacerse con la gente y para la gente”.
En sus encuentros con jóvenes universitarios, Espinosa Betanzo ha planteado que la transformación del sistema judicial debe incluir a las fiscalías, las defensorías públicas y especialmente a las escuelas universitarias, donde se forman las futuras generaciones de abogados y jueces. “Ahí debe iniciar el cambio de mentalidad, donde se privilegie el bien común por encima del interés económico”, concluyó.
